Zoology is the study of animal life including the structure, embryology, evolution, classification, habits, and distribution of animals. At Southampton, our MSci Zoology degree is a specialist programme embedded in the broader biology degree. You will study zoology not only as a pure science but will also discover how zoological knowledge is applied to today’s challenges. This four-year integrated master’s degree provides students with a focused training in zoological research, based on a solid biological foundation. A key part of the degree is gaining experience in carrying out zoological research. Students will undertake an independent research project in year three, and an advanced research project in year four. The degree will provide education and training in essential zoological skills, advanced statistical training, and enable students to engage with current zoological research.
