Physics with Space Science (4 years)

Space Science embraces an ever-growing range of exhilarating areas of scientific study, which often rapidly develop into novel commercial applications that can change the face of society. The MPhys Physics with Space Science degree will provide a solid grounding in a broad range of space disciplines, preparing you for a wide range of careers – from fundamental research, to commercial space activities. The University of Southampton is an excellent place to study physics. Physics and astronomy at Southampton is ranked fourth in the UK (Guardian University Guide 2017), and we are first within the Russell Group for student satisfaction (NSS 2017). Our MPhys Physics programmes are accredited by the Institute of Physics. You will have access to exceptional research-grade facilities, including specialist photonics labs and rooftop observatories. We also provide an exciting opportunity in the second year; our top students visit La Laguna University in Tenerife to participate in a design study of a scientific spacecraft.
