Accredited by the Geological Society of London, our BSc Geology is recognised by all major employers and gives you a one-year credit towards Chartered Geologist status. One of the strengths of our course is the emphasis on fieldwork. You can develop your field-based research skills across the UK and Europe, including exciting and challenging residential field courses in England, Wales, mainland Spain and Tenerife. Geology has a long history at Southampton, being taught at the University for more than 150 years, and our students have an excellent record in securing work in the field after graduation, whether in further research or specialised Master’s degrees, or in fields as diverse as engineering geology, environmental geology, offshore surveying, mineral or hydrocarbon exploration. All of our Geology programmes are accredited by the Geological Society of London.
