Biomedical Sciences

Study the mechanisms of life and the underlying causes of human disease with Southampton’s BSc Biomedical Sciences degree. Our three -year degree programme provides in-depth training across biomedical sciences with a strong focus on the science driving forward modern clinical practice. Biomedical science is making a difference today in a number of vital areas including investigating potential treatments for Alzheimer’s disease, finding the causes of cystic fibrosis and improving our understanding of cancer. Your learning will encompass all areas of human physiology, including cell biology, genetics and neuroscience. You will develop your biomedical laboratory and research skills under the guidance of our world-leading staff. Our graduates often progress onto medicine and healthcare pathways, the clinical professions or research.
