Biology

Discover the science of life processes from molecules and cells to whole organisms and ecosystems, with Southampton’s BSc Biology. This three-year degree is a flexible programme that prepares you for a broad choice of potential careers including working within the agricultural sector, being involved in conservation and the environment, to jobs in medicine, biotechnology or business. Students are taught by our expert staff who are actively engaged in high-profile research. Our state-of-the-art life sciences building provides a range of modern facilities such as plant growth, tissue culture and invertebrate facilities. You will explore diverse biosciences subject matter and gain extensive practical experience from a variety of field trips in the UK, Belize and Spain. You can also benefit from the close links we have with the nearby Marwell Wildlife organisation.
