Sports Studies

If you want a career in the sports industry, this course will give you the professional knowledge and skills you need. You’ll gain a sound understanding of several core sports, exercise and physical activity disciplines, including applied coaching and development practice, physiology, psychology and physical education, to name just a few. You’ll engage in practical and theory sessions using facilities on and off campus, including the sports hall, outdoor 3G and astro pitches, physiology and performance analysis laboratories, and the strength and conditioning suite. These sessions help you learn how to use a range of sports science and coaching tools to assess and evaluate individuals and teams. Students have the opportunity to engage with the UK sports industry workforce through relevant work placements, as well as sport-related qualifications. This will enhance your employability to give you that competitive edge when you graduate.
