Live Event Technology (Including Foundation Year)

The foundation course in Live Event Technology allows you to build up the knowledge and confidence to progress on to the BSc (Hons) Live Event Technology degree. Accredited by The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), our degree in live event technology will give you the technical skills to transform live performances into events. You will study live sound, video, rigging and lighting technology for use in all kinds of venues, from theatre, concerts and festivals, to TV, themed attractions and corporate events. Throughout the live event technology course, there is a balance of theoretical and practical applications of technology, so you’ll learn how to work with artistic colleagues to find creative solutions to the practical challenges of staging live events. We regularly get involved in all kinds of events, from pop-up castle cinemas to live sports broadcasts. This mix of theory and practice will prepare you for a career in entertainment, broadcasting, touring logistics, technical production companies, and technical sales.
