Forensic Investigation

The MSci Forensic Investigation has been designed to allow students without a traditional science background, or those with a specific interest in this area, to acquire knowledge and practical skill relating to the use of crime scene processing, evidence analysis and interpretation and forensic management strategies. It will explore contemporary areas of forensic investigation including the use of techniques in the criminal investigation of sport and competition, consumer products such as foodstuffs, pharmaceuticals, coinage and artwork, the investigation of wildlife crime, and in the investigation of terrorism. The MSci combines the rigours of Bachelors and Masters level modules into one integrated undergraduate package allowing you to gain higher-level skills in crime scene examination, crime scene management, and evidence analysis, together with learning about the structure and processes that regulate the criminal justice system and the law associated with criminal investigation. There are many benefits to studying an MSci – fast-tracking your career, a wider range of career pathways, greater financial rewards and increased employability skills including research and project management. You will also study for a PRINCE2 Foundation qualification in project management, which is highly valued by employers.
