Forensic Accounting (Top-Up)

Forensic accounting is financial detective work. It combines accounting, IT and investigative skills. Professionals are often called upon to give evidence in courts of law. Your first year will be the same as the BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance. You specialise in forensic accounting in your second and final year. You’ll also learn from our forensic computing staff and use our latest equipment, which is also used to investigate cases for police, business and government. This is a growing area of accounting, with specialist departments in all larger firms and many medium-sized firms. Thanks to a shortage of professionals in this field, you can expect to be well paid. The course is also accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), so you’ll be working towards a professional qualification as well as your degree.
