Civil Engineering (Including Foundation Year)

Our foundation route into Civil Engineering allows you to build up the knowledge and confidence to progress into undergraduate study and develop key skills for success in the civil engineering industry. The foundation year will prepare you for the BSc (Hons) Civil Engineering degree, providing you with amazing opportunities for careers in the civil engineering profession. You will have the right practical and academic training in areas such as structural design, geotechnical design, project management, highway and transport engineering, and sustainable design and development. You’ll gain knowledge of fundamental engineering principles, as well as IT skills. Using industry-standard software, you’ll learn how to apply these skills to engineering problems through design and project work. There are practical field courses in the UK, and you’ll be encouraged to complete a work placement as part of your studies.
