We teach music education, music technology, and music business, as well as purely academic subjects such as ethnomusicology.

Our teaching staff includes leading musicologists from around the world as well as experienced practitioners. This breadth of expertise means we can cover most genres. If you choose make performance part of your degree you will get expert tuition on your instrument.
The School of East Asian Studies, where you will spend roughly half your time, teaches Chinese from scratch so you don’t need previous experience. You will study the culture and history of China and spend your second year at Nanjing University, one of China’s best.
Our graduates are composers, performers, music therapists and broadcasters. Employers include the Royal College of Music, the Yamaha Academy of Arts and Music, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and the Welsh National Opera.
