Quantity surveyors manage and control financial aspects of the construction process and can also specialise in construction contract law and procurement. They work on behalf of contracting organisations or representatives of the client, aiming to ensure that the project is completed within budget. This course will educate and train you to the highest standards set by the RICS, developing your knowledge of the economic, legal, technical and managerial aspects of quantity surveying. If you choose to study Quantity Surveying as an accelerated degree, you will still cover the same content as you would on a normal degree, however, you will complete your degree in two years rather than three. You still have the option to undertake a placement year on the accelerated degree. Furthermore, you will only need to pay two years of tuition and living fees if you choose the accelerated pathway.
