International Business is a programme that aims to prepare graduates for successful careers in today’s global marketplace. With technology enabling people from all over the globe to connect and collaborate like never before, professionals who understand how different cultural and economic influences impact business are highly sought after by organisations around the world. At Salford Business School, we put industry relevance at the core of all of our programmes, and International Business is no exception. The professional experience year, which takes place on completion of your second year, gives you the chance to gain real-world experience and put the cross-cultural management skills you have developed into practice. A further opportunity for International Business students comes through our partnership with TAMK University in Finland. Through the dual award option, you have the chance to apply to study part of your course at Tampere University of Applied Sciences and graduate with two degrees. You can enhance your career options with a year-long industrial placement giving you the opportunity to apply the skills, knowledge and understanding you have gained in the first two years of the course. You will work with an employer which could be a local, national or international organisation - in recent years, students have worked on placement in the UK with international organisations and worked abroad with foreign-based businesses. During this year, you will not pay fees to the University and will earn a wage for the work that you do. There are different entry requirements and course codes for the Professional Experience Year option. This degree is also offered with a Foundation Year.
