Construction Project Management (Accelerated day-release)

**What is an Accelerated Degree?** The School of the Built Environment now offers a new mode of study for many of its undergraduate courses; the Accelerated Degree. Whilst covering the same content as a traditional three year undergraduate degree, the accelerated degree is taught over three trimesters rather than two semesters. This more intense mode of study means that you can complete your degree in a shorter period of time, therefore allowing you to progress more quickly into work or further study. If you choose to study Construction Project Management as a day-release accelerated degree, you will complete it in three years rather than five. The traditional three year full-time and five year part-time options for this course are still available. **Construction Project Management** Construction project managers lead, manage and control all construction operations. Their primary role is to ensure that construction projects are completed on-time and within budget. They identify and control resources and ensure quality standards and safety requirements are met. Studying this degree course will teach you how to plan, organise and control construction operations, building your knowledge in all stages of the process – from initial feasibility studies through to design, construction, maintenance, refurbishment and demolition. You will also have the opportunity to take part in project orientated group work where real problems will be tackled. This course is accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) meaning that you will be educated to the highest industry standards. You will also be encouraged to undertake a placement year in industry between your second and third year, which you will arrange with our support.
