The Foundation Year of the four-year programme (or five if you opt for an industry placement year) aims to provide understanding of the key subjects in computer science to meet the prerequisites for study on the associated degree programme. The key areas of study will be effective communication and study skills combined with key subjects in computer science. You will cover the basics of programming, as well as looking at the detailed operation of computer systems. Furthermore, you will cover essential mathematics and gain the correct skill set for success on the related computer science course. Following completion of the Foundation Year, you will progress on to year one of your selected degree for the remainder of your course.
