The Professional Development module in the second year helps you to develop the skills you need – presentation skills, networking, interview techniques etc – to move more easily into successful employment. Students on our BIT programme have the opportunity to try out their ideas and learning on a range of exciting projects, including working with our 3D printers and the application of 4G technology. By your final year, you will possess strong technical skills and be well equipped to lead and contribute to the development, deployment and integration of IT solutions in a variety of organisational settings. You can enhance your career options with a year-long industrial placement giving you the opportunity to apply the skills, knowledge and understanding you have gained in the first two years of the course. You will work with an employer either in the UK or overseas; this could be a local, national or international organisation. In 2016-17, these included such as BUPA and IBM.
