This course allows you to study two subjects which are perfectly matched; Business and Economics are two of the most topical fields of debate and review for modern companies worldwide. On this course, you will gain invaluable insight into important issues challenging governments and business leaders, while learning how companies operate internally and within a global marketplace. You will develop highly employable digital skills and econometric capabilities suitable for a variety of opportunities working at the cutting edge of international business and economics. The Professional Development module in the second year helps you to develop the skills you need – presentation skills, networking, interview techniques etc – to move more easily into successful employment. You will have the opportunity to study the Sage accounting course – at no cost - which students say helps their employability after graduation. You can enhance your career options with a year-long industrial placement giving you the opportunity to apply the skills, knowledge and understanding you have gained in the first two years of the course. You will work with an employer which could be a local, national or international organisation – in 2016-17 these included such as Kelloggs and Bentleys Motors. During this year, you will not pay fees to the University and will earn a wage for the work that you do. There are different entry requirements and course codes for the Professional Experience Year option. This degree is also offered with a Foundation Year.
