In brief: Accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Course can be studied as an Accelerated Degree. An industrial placement year opportunity for full-time students. Part-time study option. Work/industrial placement opportunity. International students can apply. Building surveyors are sought after professionals, and the work of a chartered building surveyor can be varied or involve high levels of specialism. A chartered building surveyor can be involved in a construction project from its inception, through design and procurement, to managing its fulfilment, and eventually overseeing the building in use. This course is accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), meaning that you will be educated to the highest industry standards. As this programme is the gateway to professional status, it will develop your professional and technical skills specific to building surveying, as well as your presentation, communication and collaboration skills, which are vital in everyday life in practice. This course combines academic study with the application of professional skills and competencies and is taught through a combination of academic study and project work. You will work with students from other related courses, mirroring the multidisciplinary, team-based approach of the modern construction and property industry. This programme is also available as a Degree Apprenticeship. In order to apply for the apprenticeship route, please email us at apprenticeships@salford.ac.uk or alternatively, complete our online enquiry form on our website (www.salford.ac.uk/degree-apprenticeships). Please do not apply through UCAS for this mode of study as this is not the correct route to apply for a Degree Apprenticeship programme. In order to do a Degree Apprenticeship, you must be employed full-time in a relevant role and your employer must be willing to sponsor you. If you are not currently employed, you can find apprenticeship vacancies on the gov.uk portal here - www.gov.uk/apply-apprenticeship
