Architectural technologists are specialists in the science and art of architecture. They form the link between concept and construction, providing high-level design skills in projects of all types and scales. You will develop a strong sense of design awareness, a comprehensive understanding of traditional and contemporary technologies employed in the construction process, and become competent in the use of sophisticated and powerful information and communication tools and techniques. You will be trained to the high standards required by the CIAT and CIOB. If you choose to study Architectural Design and Technology as an accelerated degree, you will still cover the same content as you would on a normal degree, however, you will complete your degree in two years rather than three. You still have the option to undertake a placement year on the accelerated degree. Furthermore, you will only need to pay two years of tuition and living fees if you choose the accelerated pathway.
