Discover the inner workings of the human brain and of the mind, how language is acquired and used in children and adults, and how developmental and acquired disorders can disrupt everyday communication. This course is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), and will give you an excellent grounding in linguistics, psychology, neuroscience and research methods. The breadth of topics covered is vast and ranges from developmental psychology, cognition and neuroscience, electrophysiology of language to bilingualism and autism spectrum conditions. You will also have the option to include a modern foreign language as part of your credits. You will learn the methodologies used by linguists, speech and language therapists, psychologists and neuroscientists to study the brain, the mind and language in typical and atypical populations (i.e. individuals with developmental or acquired disorders).
