International Management and Business Administration with Italian

This degree programme can give you a strong grounding in the major areas of business while developing your Italian language skills and your understanding of a major European business centre. This course will help you prepare for professional roles in the public and private sectors in the UK and internationally, and examines the key themes and emerging challenges facing business in a global context, with a special emphasis on Italian culture. Henley Business School has a worldwide reputation for excellence and is among an elite group of business schools to hold triple-accredited status from the UK, European and US accrediting bodies (AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB). Progressive business-focused modules span areas including strategy, marketing, finance, organisational behaviour and human resource management. The Complete University Guide 2018 has once again shown strong results for our undergraduate courses, with all programme areas listed in the UK top 20 by subject area. We have also received the joint sixth-highest score for graduate prospects in Business, Management and Marketing in the Guardian University Guide, 2018. Throughout the degree you will develop a high level of understanding of written and spoken Italian and gain a deep understanding of the country's culture and business practices. 98% of our research overall in modern languages and linguistics is rated as world leading, internationally excellent or internationally recognised (Research Excellence Framework, 2014), which feeds directly into your learning. You will have the opportunity to undertake a one-year paid industry placement in Italy between your second and third year of study, which we encourage students to do. You can also choose to study at an Italian university, in locations such as Bologna, Florence, Genoa, Naples, Padua, Pisa, Siena and Venice. These are outstanding opportunities to develop either your knowledge of business or to further your skills at an Italian university, differentiating you from the majority of professionals. The Department of Modern Languages has a study abroad officer who can help you prepare for study at one of these universities. A successful industry placement can also lead to a job offer with your placement company upon graduation. You will also have lots of opportunities to develop excellent professional contacts that will stand you in good stead for the future. In the final year there is one core module for business and management – the Management Project. All other business and management modules are optional, allowing you to examine areas already studied at a more advanced level. You will select from a wide range of optional modules, allowing you to tailor your degree programme to suit your individual interests and ambitions. Visit the Henley Business School website for more information about this course. **Careers** A degree from Henley Business School is respected internationally and can provide a route into many areas, including accounting and professional services, banking, consultancy, finance, human resources, IT, investment banking, marketing, operations and, of course, general management. Henley has a dedicated careers team to ensure that you have the best chance of securing your dream job after you graduate, and we are ranked joint sixth for graduate prospects in business, management and marketing (Guardian University Guide, 2018). On graduation you can expect to be able to write and speak fluently in Italian, an immensely useful skill and one which will distinguish you from non-language graduates. It demonstrates self-reliance, adaptability and enterprise. As such, 98% of graduates from the Department of Modern Languages and European Studies are in work or further study six months after graduating (DLHE survey, 2015-16).
