Applied Psychology (Clinical)

Receive specialist clinical training and develop a thorough scientific knowledge of psychology. This clinically orientated degree is taught in conjunction with the world-renowned Charlie Waller Institute based within the School. This four-year MSci course integrates modules from the BSc Psychology degree with a Graduate Certificate in Evidence-Based Psychological Treatments, allowing graduates to work as psychological wellbeing practitioners, providing psychological therapies in the NHS. You will complete all of the elements required for the BPS Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC). In addition, you will receive specialist clinical training to enable you to provide brief psychological interventions for common mental health problems. This degree is particularly suited to students who have a strong scientific background, and who wish to pursue postgraduate clinical training in specialist areas of psychology. You will undertake placements in clinical settings and have the opportunity to complete a related clinical research project.
