Accounting and Finance

On this degree you will obtain a critical grasp of core theory as well as sound technical knowledge. You will also gain a thorough understanding of the role of accounting and finance in business and society. You will develop your critical and analytical skills to evaluate relevant contemporary issues in accounting and financial management in organisations. In your first year, you will study the fundamental concepts in accounting, economics and corporate finance. The second and final years are designed to build on the professional and practical knowledge you have already acquired, by offering advanced modules in core subject areas and a limited range of optional modules that enable you to focus on particular areas of interest. Certain modules on this degree are professionally accredited, meaning you can claim exemptions from professional accountancy exams in the future if you achieve the required grades. You have the opportunity to transfer to our campus in Malaysia for one year, while still completing the course in a total of three years. This would give you a fascinating cultural experience, an international perspective, and the added bonus of reduced fees for that year. You also have the option of studying this degree over four years with a placement year in industry or a year studying abroad.
