WHY STUDY THIS COURSE? You will engage in current debates and classical theories in both disciplines, developing your own research skills and benefiting from research-led teaching. Specialist units are available to prepare for entry into the police force or probation service. MORE ABOUT THIS COURSE You may take up opportunities for a work placement or foreign language as part of your study. WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR? This course is for students interested in the role society can play in explaining criminal actions and social problems. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE GAINED You will develop analytic, informational, communication and social research skills as part of your studies, and may undertake work placements as either an assessed unit or sandwich year. AFTER THE COURSE You will be equipped for roles in organisations such as local education authorities, counselling and voluntary organisations. Specialist options can prepare you for the probation service or police force. You may also undertake further training or study.
