BSc Geography will equip you with a set of practical skills to understand and monitor physical processes affecting our planet. WHY STUDY THIS COURSE? This course will give you a solid understanding of how human activity impacts on the natural environment and physical landscape, and how changes in the natural world impact on our everyday lives. MORE ABOUT THIS COURSE We offer a skills-led curriculum with an emphasis on employability. Regular guest speakers from the public, private and NGO sector help enrich the course, while you will have the opportunity to attend fieldtrips to places such as Ireland, the USA, Malta, Finland and Uganda. Our fully-equipped laboratories include laser survey technology, an aerial drone, GIS and photogammetry equipment and an environmental simulation cabinet. WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR? This course is for those interested in the world around you, its physical nature and characteristics, and how environmental changes will affect the future of our planet. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE GAINED BSc Geography develops a wide range of transferrable skills valued by employers in communication, problem solving, decision making, team work, and IT, as well as specialist skills in field and laboratory techniques. AFTER THE COURSE A range of careers will be open to you including those in environmental management, business management, public services, government, the voluntary sector and NGOs, and teaching. Our BSc graduates have pursued careers working for environmental consultancies, the Environment Agency and Ordnance Survey.
