Fully accredited by the Royal Society of Biology, our Biochemistry course is taught by lecturers who are active researchers, giving you up to date theory. This course, which achieved over 90% student satisfaction in the 2017 National Student Survey, has bespoke units for biochemists that give hands on access to state of the art equipment. MORE ABOUT THIS COURSE The course provides training to become a professional scientist using up to date theory backed up with laboratory training. You will use modern equipment such as X-ray diffractometers, nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometers and instrumentation for protein purification. WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR? The course is for individuals with an interest in the study of molecules, genes and cells and how we use this knowledge to revolutionise research, medical diagnosis and clinical treatment. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE GAINED You will obtain a variety of skills including training in up-to date laboratory techniques and you will get the opportunity to work in the internationally renowned Biophysics Laboratories and European Xenopus Resource Centre during your final year research project. You will study with research-active staff and benefit from their contribution to various fields of discovery, including gene expression and neural development.
