Quantity Surveying - University of Plymouth

Quantity Surveyors are key players in any multidisciplinary building project as they have the skills and knowledge to allow the feasibility of project designs to become a reality. Graduates are in great demand because of the ever increasing importance placed on demonstrating value to Clients in the Public and Private sectors and society. This course will help you develop the knowledge and skills in the commercial and financial management of construction projects. Through lectures, field trips, tutorials with industry partners, real assessments and projects briefs, and an optional year-long paid industry placement, you will learn the requirements for managing risk and proving value for a variety of clients taking into account sustainable and ethical dimensions. As a quantity surveying graduate could also work effectively in a wide range of related fields including: project management, legal analysis, design management and value and risk management. Our course is **fully accredited** by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the leading professional body recognised for Quantity Surveyors. This course will place you at the forefront of the sector and be able to embrace the trend towards stricter **environmental and energy** based legislation. You will gain valuable workplace experience with a **paid year-long placement** in a leading quantity surveying or project management consultant in the UK or abroad.
