Sociology and Social Policy

Taught by researchers with international reputations in their respective fields, this course will enable you to understand the causes of social problems, both globally and nationally, and what can be done about them. It brings sociological analysis to bear on the wicked problems that social policy concerns itself with and on other issues that fundamentally affect the welfare of society and individuals. You will explore the burning questions of the age and specialise in areas of the discipline according to your interests and career aspirations. You can apply to spend part of your third year in locations such as Australia, Canada, China, New Zealand and the USA.
