Nursing (Mental Health)

You will be working with a diverse range of patients; those who experience more common problems such as depression, anxiety or dementia, as well as rarer conditions such as schizophrenia. The nature of mental health nursing means that there is a wide range of settings and specialist areas in which you may gain experience and ultimately pursue a career, from community care to work in the emergency services. You may also choose to specialise in a particular area of mental health, such as working with children, people with drug or alcohol problems, or in forensic services.
