History of Art and English

The two elements of this course complement each other very well. History of art requires visual awareness and understanding, which enhances the literary and historical focus of English and vice versa. Our facilities in the Department of History of Art are outstanding, with our on-campus Djanogly Art Gallery giving you access to acclaimed exhibitions and offering hands-on experience. Furthermore, you will be taught be staff who curate at national institutions including the Tate Britain and National Portrait Gallery. The School of English offers further opportunity for creative expression and analysis, with writing and editorial opportunities available for various student-led magazines.
