Historical Archaeology

Historical archaeology is an exciting course which studies the material remains of past societies –from the empires of the ancient world to the medieval and post-medieval periods, up to the present day- by comparing and contrasting the evidence provided by written documents, archaeology and visual culture. Within the broad spectrum of human history, you will have the chance to tailor your studies to the eras and regions that interest you most due to our diverse range of modules. To further facilitate your learning you will have access to our in-house outstanding facilities, including archaeology laboratories, the on-campus museum, and the Digital Humanities Centre. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to join our world-renowned staff on archaeological fieldwork and research projects across the globe.
