French and Philosophy

You will combine French language studies, at post-A level or beginners’ level, with the study of media and communications. Modules cover various aspects of society, culture, history, and politics, to ensure you have a good overview of the context in which French is spoken. Furthermore, you will study theory and history to develop a strong sense of the political, economic, social and cultural factors fields in the contemporary world. Throughout your studies your linguistic development in French will be supported by facilities such as our self-access language centre, and your language skills will be further developed during your third year, which is spent studying, working or teaching in a French or Francophone country.
