Criminology

Criminology is the study of crime, its definitions, causes and consequences. At Nottingham, we seek to understand the functioning of the criminal justice system, our response to crime, and the treatment of victims and those defined as criminals. On this course, you will gain a detailed knowledge of a dynamic and exciting subject area, and can choose from a variety of optional modules according to your interests and career aspirations. This includes options from sociology and social policy, which will enable you to see crime in its wider social and global context. You can also apply to spend part of your third year studying abroad in locations such as Australia, Canada, China, New Zealand and the USA.
