Animal Science - University of Nottingham

Studying animal science at Nottingham will give you the scientific understanding of applied animal biology, and the flexibility to choose modules suited to your areas of interest and your career aspirations. The course has a strong practical element enabling you to work in close collaboration with animals in our University Farm and Dairy Centre and undertake laboratory procedures in our specialist facilities. The broad curriculum covers animal physiology and reproduction, biochemistry and nutrition, developmental biology and bioethics and animal welfare. You will benefit from our extensive industrial and institutional links with visits to relevant research organisations. We work collaboratively with companies such as the global agri-food businesses AB Agri and Cargill, and nearby Twycross Zoo, and you will gain insights through visits, field trips and guest lectures. Previous organisations have included The Stabiliser™ Cattle Company, AHDB, a levy board funded by UK farmers and PDSA, a UK veterinary charity.
