**Why choose this course?** Our Mechanical Engineering degree has been developed to ensure that you gain the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in your career and drive the industry forward. In the first year you will gain the ability and confidence to assess and analyse different situations in engineering, focusing on the electrical and electronic aspects. In your final year you will work on an independent study focussing on your area of interest in further detail. You can choose to go onto an additional year, MEng, an integrated postgraduate stage. This course has been accredited by IMechE, which means that you will meet the academic requirements for registration as a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer, putting you in great stead to gain experience in industry and subsequently achieve professional engineering status.
