Entering the Acting profession as a working stage and screen actor requires high-level skills and knowledge, which the BA (Hons) Acting programme at the University of Northampton is designed to help you develop. We are committed to conservatoire-style training, delivered by highly experienced industry professionals. We have eight bespoke rehearsal spaces, as well as fully equipped television and radio studios. Your training will mainly be practical, with over 30 hours per week for three terms. As part of your training, you'll participate in performances and productions, work with visiting professionals including directors and actors, and form your own theatre companies. You’ll also have the option to take part in a comprehensive extracurricular programme of theatre trips; typically including the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon, London’s West End and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. The cost of these trips is covered by an annual fee of £95, payable at the start of term. Additionally, there may be opportunities to audition for main house productions at the prestigious Royal and Derngate theatre, where we have close links. You will also be eligible for student Equity membership. All of your essential reading will be available from the University's Library which means that all your essential course reading materials are available for free when you start with us. Join us in September 2018 and be the first to experience student life at the University’s brand-new Waterside Campus. Come along to an Open Day to find out more.
