International Relations offers the chance to learn about how states interact with each other, as well as the impacts and contributions of organisations such as the UN. You’ll combine core modules on key topics such security and the concepts, theories and research methods of international relations with a range of optional modules. You can explore topics that interest you, from the politics of aid to the complexities of Middle Eastern politics and the rise of extreme right parties in Europe. If you have little or no knowledge of Russian, this degree will allow you to learn the language from scratch and introduce you to various aspects of Russian culture, history and politics. Core modules will develop your speaking, reading, listening and writing skills and you’ll spend your second year studying in Russia refine your language skills. You’ll also be introduced to Russian culture and literature and choose from a wide range of optional modules exploring topics that suit your interests.
