This degree allows you to become fluent in a major world language while gaining a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts and principles. If you have an A level in French, it’s a chance to combine two very different subjects to build a broad base of skills. Core modules will develop your language skills and introduce you to algebra, modelling, calculus, vectors and other key areas of mathematical studies. But you’ll also be able to choose from optional modules covering the full range of Francophone culture and mathematical topics and you’ll even spend a year in a Francophone country. You could combine geometry with French poetry or antiracism movements in post-war France with statistics. This Joint Honours programme represents a fantastic opportunity to develop linguistic ability, cultural awareness, analysis and numerical skills in a demanding and multi-faceted degree.
