Classical and Archaeological Studies and French

Classical & Archaeological Studies is very interdisciplinary in nature making it an ideal joint honours subject. Students of French will appreciate the opportunity to compare these with ancient languages such as Latin and Greek, and tracing the influences of the ancient world on modern day French culture. Archaeology, meanwhile, draws interpretative strands from many disciplines including anthropology and philosophy, so joint honours will give you a head start with archaeological interpretation. French is one of the most beautiful romance languages. Outside of France it is spoken as far afield as Canada, the Seychelles, Madagascar and Mali. It is one of the official languages of the United Nations, and an important language in the EU. This joint-honours degree offers you the chance to achieve a near-native level in French, alongside your studies in Classical & Archaeological Studies.
