Chemistry with a Year in Industry

Chemistry is a fascinating area of science and central to understanding the world around us. Studying the distinctive programme at Kent, you are involved in live research and develop skills that can be applied to some of the key challenges of the 21st century – such as human health and the world’s increasing energy demands. The chemical industry is central to the modern world economy and chemistry graduates have a wide range of employment options open to them in oil, gas, energy and pharmaceutical industries, as well as in consumer products. At the School of Physical Sciences we link our world-leading research on materials chemistry to our undergraduate programmes – which are all accredited by the Royal Society of Chemistry. All practical classes take place in our newly refurbished laboratories, where you use the latest equipment. Our four-year course includes a paid work placement after your second year of study, which can help further enhance your employability. We offer help and advice in finding a placement, and keep in touch with you throughout the year.
