Sports Coaching and Performance Science

Throughout the course, our expert coaches teach you how to apply theoretical knowledge to real-life coaching, and to work closely with professional teams and athletes. You benefit from high-quality facilities, such as the £1.5m Health and Performance Lab, and receive practical training from specialist practitioners. Our accredited Sports Coaching and Performance programme is one of only a few in the country to be awarded a mark of excellence by Skills Active and Sports Coach UK. As an MSci student, you have the opportunity to show how you can integrate a wide variety of coaching practice disciplines into your own practice. In doing so, you will demonstrate the complex and multi-layered nature of real world coaching. As well as completing a research project in sports coaching, you will also engage in coaching-related work experience. Volunteering and placement opportunities are available with local, regional and national organisations throughout the programme. See our website for more information.
