Sociology (Social Anthropology)

Social Anthropology celebrates diversity, and develops cross-cultural understandings through exploring social, cultural and political differences in societies around the world. Sociology’s focus on modernity examines how the modern world has developed, with a focus on ongoing social transformation. Sociology and Social Anthropology at Hull focus on current events that shape the world around us and through the combination of the two disciplines you will develop critical understanding of key issues in social life such as culture, identity, belief, politics, inequalities, media, globalisation, conflict and migration. This degree will give you a deep understanding of human cultural diversity and why people do the things they do. We offer the option of a foundation year, ideal for students who do not have the academic qualifications for direct entry on to the degree. See our website for more information.
