Our Physical Geography programme has a strong focus on the physical and biological processes that control the state of the natural environment. This allows you to develop great depth and breadth in your expertise in dealing with practical issues in geographical science. The wide choice of modules covers everything from geomorphology, biogeography and soils to hydrology, sedimentology and environmental change, with a selection of specialised options in your final year. You can participate in field studies in East Yorkshire and in overseas destinations such as Morocco, Iceland, Malawi, Germany and Spain. All core field trips are provided free of charge and many optional modules also include a fieldwork element. We offer the option of a foundation year, an ideal route if you need to strengthen your academic skills – providing you with the scientific, intellectual and investigative skills and knowledge required for the undergraduate programme. You can also choose to spend a year abroad studying at one of our partner universities. See our website for more information.
