During the programme you will gain an in-depth understanding of the geological, physical and biological processes that operate on and underneath the Earth’s surface and control the state of the natural environment. Accredited by the Geological Society, this interdisciplinary degree provides the broad training needed to work in roles within the mining, petroleum, civil engineering and environmental sectors. You will benefit from free core field trips, which make full use of our unique position on the Yorkshire coast. Optional final-year field trips visit locations such as Iceland, Malawi and Morocco. The foundation year is ideal if you do not have the academic qualifications for direct entry on to the programme. You'll study a range of modules designed to prepare you for degree-level study.
