Drama and Film Studies

This exciting course allows you to study theatre and performance from a variety of academic and practical perspectives as well as gaining a wide-ranging understanding of film and media as artistic, commercial and cultural phenomena. The University of Hull has been pioneering Drama courses for 50 years and has a reputation for nurturing talent and creativity. From the very beginning of your degree, you will engage with dramatic texts, theatre history, modes of criticism and a wide range of performance practices and have the opportunity to build a portfolio of practical film making skills by producing and directing your own films and other media pieces. You will be taught by expert staff from both Drama and Film Studies departments, acquiring a full theatrical and film skill set, emerging as a highly skilled critic, performer, writer, designer, technician, producer or director.
