Crime happens in social contexts which Sociology helps us to understand. Through real world examples you will explore societal responses to crime and look at the importance of crime’s impact on society. You will examine your own attitudes towards crime, criminals and victims, as well as different social groups, cultures and social institutions. Our strong links with local criminal justice and social service agencies and charities provide fantastic opportunities for placements and other work experience. The foundation year is ideal for students who do not have the academic qualifications for direct entry on to the programme. You'll study a range of modules specifically designed to prepare you for degree-level study. See our website for more information.
