Biomedical Engineering is one of the fastest growing industry sectors and is fast becoming one of the most rewarding. As 95% of medical device companies are small and medium-sized enterprises, there is huge potential for those wishing to research and develop ideas with an entrepreneurial spirit and studying at the University of Hull will provide you with the skills you need to succeed in this exciting industry. This five-year Masters course is for students who want to take their biomedical engineering studies to the highest level, while also taking the opportunity to spend a year overseas at one of the University’s partner organisations. You will be taught primarily through lectures, laboratory sessions, tutorials and seminars by professional engineers as well as clinicians and clinical engineers from local hospitals, with guest lectures by experts from medical device companies. Using virtual dissection and online training you will gain an in-depth understanding of the human body. All of Hull’s Biomedical Engineering degrees are (or will be) accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and Institute for Engineering and Physics in Medicine (IPEM). Successful completion of your studies provides a direct pathway to becoming a Chartered Engineer.
