Applied Sport Science for Performance

Delivered as an ‘all-inclusive’ programme, it provides a solid grounding in theory and academia before training you in the practical elements of working as a sports scientist - with the goal of enabling you to help athletes attain the highest level of physical performance in professional sport. Ultimately, the programme fosters your confidence to translate evidence into practice, and motivate athletes in various disciplines. We have close relationships with a number of sports teams including Hull KR, Hull City Tigers AFC, Bradford Bulls and other leading clubs - many of which are attracted to partnerships thanks to our leading-edge research activity and world-class labs. As an MSci student, in Year 4 you have the chance to heighten your experience and hone your skills in a chosen field, introducing a new suite of advanced biomechanics, physiology, psychology and performance analysis (for example GPS and Prozone). You will therefore be able to specialise on a focused discipline ‘pathway’. See our website for more information.
