Philosophy with Film

As a student on this course, not only will you study philosophy within a thriving intellectual community but also benefit from regular visiting speakers and taking part in a residential weekend (optional). As for Film, it is is a fascinating aspect of culture to study. Starting with David Lynch's Mulholland Drive, the course addresses how film 'makes meaning' and evaluates the order of the filmed narrative. Our unique Humanities Programme at the University of Hertfordshire enables you to study a combination of major and minor subjects to create a really bespoke degree that suits both your strengths and interests. It’s up to you whether you continue with your unique combination from your second year of study or simply specialise in perhaps just one or two subject areas.
