Media Production Foundation Degree

This two-year, full-time programme is designed to give students the opportunity to develop their creative and practical skills in media production to a very high level. Students will develop experience in their subject through learning about the skills processes and technologies associated with the media production industry, and put them into practice through a range of vocational projects. Students are given the opportunity to develop the skills needed to survive in the highly competitive world of film and television, as well as become aware of the business and contextual frameworks of the industry. There will be a strong emphasis on innovative, industry linked work in all fields with students being asked to respond to briefs in a creative and considered way, evaluating their own work as they progress. On completion of the programme students will have a portfolio of five short films in areas of fiction, factual and entertainment. Visiting lecturers who are currently working in the industry will also be contributing to students' knowledge.
